About the Author

Caryn Hartman is an award-winning children’s book author. After studying abroad in India, Nepal, and Tibet, she got her BA in Anthropology and Religious Studies from the University of Colorado. She later received her MA from the University of Virginia in History of Religion with a focus on Tibet. After graduate school she became a teacher in Denver Public Schools. She enjoys combining her passion for Tibetan culture with her love of children’s stories to create an awareness of Tibet’s plight. Caryn lives in Denver, Colorado with her husband, two boys, a dog, and a cat who thinks she's a dog. She loves to travel, go on long road trips, and will jump at any chance to be surrounded by mountains.
